The Nigerian Foreign Minister will stay in Ottawa from May 9-10 during his first visit to the Canadian capital, Global Affairs Canada said in a statement.
"Minister Joly and Minister Tuggar will discuss their countries' relations both as bilateral and multilateral partners as well as Nigeria’s role and influence in West Africa," the statement said.
The ministers will also discuss global challenges and opportunities, GAC said. Discussion on ways to ensure that African states play a more prominent role in international organization are also expected to take place, the statement added.
Tuggar is scheduled to meet with Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs Robert Oliphant as well as other Canadian officials, according to the statement.
