Burkinabe Interim President Lays Foundation Stone for Country's Armed Forces Industrial Complex

According to the UN Conference on Trade and Development, Africa's industrial and manufacturing sector's contribution to the continent's GDP increased slightly between 2000 and 2019. Africa remains less industrialized than other regions and accounts for a small share of global manufacturing value added and merchandise exports.

Burkina Faso's Interim President, Ibrahim Traore, lays the foundation stone for the country's Armed Forces Industrial Complex.
The TEXFORCES-BF factory in the Burkinabe city of Bobo-Dioulasso will manufacture and market professional clothing for the military, paramilitary and civilian corps.
"It's a process of industrialization that we've set in motion," declared Ibrahim Traore at the ceremony.
"The goal is to process everything we produce," because "every year we spend tens of billions abroad to dress ourselves, the defense forces, the security forces, and so we have decided to process our cotton locally."
