The defense ministers of Burkina Faso and Côte d'Ivoire met on April 19 in Niangoloko, Burkina Faso, near the border.
"We have reviewed all the points of relations between the two countries," Côte d'Ivoire's Minister Téné Birahima Ouattara said at the end of the meeting.
While acknowledging the existence of "sticking points," he said he was ready to resolve them in order to "move forward."
"We hope to make a new start, to fight effectively against terrorism and various trafficking on our borders," Burkinabe General Kassoum Coulibaly said. He described the meeting as "very useful."
According to Solange Amichia, Director General of the Investment Promotion Center in Côte d'Ivoire, Burkina Faso is the top foreign investor in Côte d'Ivoire in 2023.
