Iranian Foreign Minister Reportedly to Visit Syria to Discuss Israel's Strike

DUBAI (Sputnik) - On Sunday, Iranian media reported that Amirabdollahian visited Oman and met with a Houthi delegation that expressed its readiness to support Iran amid Israel’s airstrike on the consulate in Damascus.

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian will visit Syria on Monday to discuss the situation in the Gaza Strip, bilateral relations and the consequences of the Israeli strike on the Iranian consulate in Damascus, the Syrian newspaper reported, citing sources.
On April 1, Israel carried out an airstrike on the consular annex of the Iranian Embassy in Damascus, destroying the building. Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said seven of its members had been killed in the attack, including two commanders.
On Tuesday, the Syrian Health Ministry said that the attack had also killed four Syrians and injured 13 more.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry said it "reserves the right" to respond to the Israeli attack and "punish the aggressor." Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi also vowed that Israel would pay a "heavy price" for the strike.
