Finnish President Alexander Stubb said that the only way to achieve peace in the Ukraine conflict is to continue fighting.
"The only way we can achieve peace is through the battlefield," Stubb told the US broadcaster.
At the same time, he noted that Ukrainian society is tired of the conflict that began more than 2 years ago.
The Finnish president also said that there is a complete lack of political dialogue between Finland and Russia.
Moscow launched its special military operation in Ukraine on February 24, 2022. Russian and Ukrainian delegations engaged in several rounds of peace talks, including in Turkey in March 2022, in the early days of the conflict.
In October 2022, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree stating that Kiev could not hold peace talks as long as President Vladimir Putin is in power in Russia.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated earlier that the conflict in Ukraine is a lucrative business project for the US, as the continued military assistance to the East European country brings money to the treasury and creates new jobs in the US.
