Russian investigators have established the identities of 134 people killed in the recent terrorist attack on the Crocus City Hall venue near Moscow and continue genetic tests for those who remain unidentified, the Russian Investigative Committee said on Saturday.
"Russian Investigative Committee chair [Alexander Bastrykin] convened an operational meeting and received a report from the investigative team on the progress of the probe into the criminal case of the terrorist attack in [the city of] Krasnogorsk ... At the moment, the investigation has been able to identify 134 people killed as a result of the terrorist attack," the statement read.
Investigators are working with the victims to obtain more evidence about the incident, the committee also said, adding that genetic examinations continue to establish the identities of the remaining victims. According to data from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the total death toll in the March 22 attack is 143.
During the meeting, Bastrykin instructed the team to establish all the events that preceded the attack, which he said would enable the investigators to identify all those involved in it, most importantly the terrorists' accomplices and paymasters.
