At Least 45 Reportedly Dead as Bus Plunges Into River in South Africa's Limpopo Province

MOSCOW (Sputnik) - At least 45 people have been killed after a bus plunged off a bridge and caught fire in South Africa's northernmost Limpopo province, South African media reported.

The accident occurred on the Mmamatlakala mountain pass between the towns of Mokopane and Marken in the Waterberg region, the SABC radio reported.
All the passengers were pilgrims traveling from Botswana's capital of Gaborone to the Zion Christian Church (ZCC) headquarters in the city of Moria in Limpopo province, according to the report.

The only survivor of the accident, an eight-year-old girl, was taken to hospital, SABC reported, citing Transport Minister Sindisiwe Chikunga. Another injured woman died on the way to hospital.
