Russian President Vladimir Putin has held a phone conversation with Congolese President Denis Sassou Nguesso, who offered condolences over the Crocus City Hall terrorist attack, the Kremlin said on Wednesday.
"The Congolese president expressed deep condolences and feelings of solidarity with Russia in connection with the barbaric terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall [over the phone conversation with Putin]," the Kremlin said in a statement.
During the talks, the Congolese leader highly appreciated the work of epidemiologists from Russia to eliminate the outbreak of infectious diseases in the African country, the statement read.
Taking into account that Russia and Congo mark the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations this month, the leaders confirmed a mutual commitment to further active bilateral interaction in political, trade, economic, humanitarian and other areas, the Kremlin said.
