The demilitarization of Ukraine as set by Russia in its special military operation (SMO) has been achieved and Kiev is currently surviving off weapon deliveries from NATO member states, Russian Ambassador to the United Nations Vassily Nebenzia said on Friday.
"Given that the UAF [Ukrainian Armed Forces] has long not been using its own weaponry for waging war, it can be said that the goal of our SMO to demilitarize Ukraine itself has been achieved," Nebenzia told a UN Security Council session on Ukraine.
The Russian ambassador pointed out that Ukrainian soldiers are currently exclusively surviving off the deliveries of military assistance from NATO member states.
However, the Russian military destroys all supplies equipment ranging from US-made Abrams and German-made Leopard main battle tanks and HIMARS missile systems, Nebenzia said.
