Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has praised the productive partnership between Ethiopia and the African Development Bank (AfDB) and extended his congratulations to AfDB President Akinwumi Adesina on receiving the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo Prize for Leadership.
In a recent statement, Abiy Ahmed commented on his meeting with Dr. Abdul Kamara, the Deputy Director-General for the East Africa Region at AfDB, where they reviewed the ongoing projects in Ethiopia funded by the bank.
"Ethiopia’s partnership with the African Development Bank continued to be productive," the Prime Minister stated on Friday.
Furthermore, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed took the opportunity to congratulate AfDB President Dr. Akinwumi Adesina on being honored with the Obafemi Awolowo Prize for Leadership earlier this week.
"Additionally, I seize this opportunity to congratulate my brother, Akin Adesina, on receiving the Obafemi Awolowo Prize for Leadership," Ahmed said.
On Wednesday, Akinwumi Adesina was awarded the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo Prize for Leadership. The prize, named in honor of the eminent Nigerian statesman and philosopher, recognizes individuals who have made outstanding contributions to leadership and nation-building in Africa.
Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, a distinguished agricultural economist and former Nigerian Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, has been instrumental in advancing AfDB's agenda for fostering inclusive and sustainable development across the African continent since assuming office in 2015.
