Nigerian Foreign Minister Yusuf Maitama Tuggar will pay a three-day working visit to Moscow from Tuesday to Thursday.
On Wednesday, Tuggar will hold talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. The two top diplomats are expected to discuss ways to increase bilateral cooperation, including intensifying political dialogue, expanding trade, economic and humanitarian ties.
They will also exchange views on the regional and international agenda, mainly focusing on ways to resolve current crises on the African continent, especially in the Saharan and Sahel regions.
In addition, Tuggar and Lavrov will discuss nuclear energy cooperation as the Nigerian authorities are interested in having Russian state corporation Rosatom construct a nuclear plant in the country.
