Head of Gagauzia Says Region Wants Russia's Support

Gagauzia, also known as Gagauz-Yeri, is an autonomous territorial entity within the Republic of Moldova, created on December 23, 1994. This autonomy is designed for the Gagauz people, who are a Turkic-speaking, predominantly Orthodox community.

Gagauzia wants Russia's support, region's head Yevgenia Gutsul tells Chair of the Russian Federation Council Valentina Matvienko.
Yevgenia Gutsul also stressed the need to improve transportation accessibility so that Gagauzian residents can have the opportunity to travel to Russia.
