The "common cause" of the Multipolarity Forum is the advancement of multipolarity, as the world "is fed up with the unipolar system", according to Dr. Abdiwahab Sheikh Abdisamad, CEO of Afro-Asia Institute for Strategic Studies, Nairobi, Kenya.
"That's why they are coming together to defend their own common interests. For the past 30 or 20 years, the unipolar system has become a liability to the world, Dr. Abdisamad explains.
A multipolar global architecture envisioned by the Global South "is a new window of paradise" and "a way out of mental colonization", Mr. Abdi Nur Said, Secretary General of the Somali Intellectuals Forum, believes.
Allan Atugonza, Ugandan MP, believes that multipolarity "is best for our continent", as it brings Africa "closer to the decision-making table".
"Let us have a fair share. Each one should have a fair share of the globe," he says.
