Russian President Vladimir Putin supported the idea of facilitating the movement of foreigners who desire to resettle in Russia on the grounds that they share its cultural values, the leader noted at the forum "Strong Ideas for a New Time."
"It's a good idea to focus on traditional moral values when welcoming people who want to live here. But how do you determine what real values a person adheres to?" he noted.
The leader clarified that certain individual approaches should be considered during this process.
"Our migration services, of course, have not grown up to this yet. This is obvious, and there is something to work on here. There are different ideas here," the leader said.
The forum "Strong Ideas for a New Era" organized by the non-profit Strategic Initiatives Agency was held in Moscow on February 19-20.
