Senegalese President Macky Sall is ready to reconsider the postponement of the elections, communique said.
"The Head of State will without delay conduct the necessary consultations for the organization of the presidential election as soon as possible," the presidency said in a statement.
On February 3, Macky Sall postponed the presidential election indefinitely, just hours before the official campaign was to begin. On February 5, Senegal's parliament passed a law to postpone the presidential election to December 15.
This controversial maneuver sparked demonstrations in several cities across the country. On Thursday, the Constitutional Council finally invalidated the postponement of the elections.
