China's top leadership is willing to work with African leaders to promote mutually beneficial cooperation, Chinese President Xi Jinping said in a congratulatory message to the participants of the 37th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union (AU) in Addis Ababa.
The Chinese leader reiterated that Beijing is willing to work with African countries to focus on issues that concern the well-being of the Chinese and African peoples, carefully draw up a new roadmap for China-Africa cooperation, and promote the building of a high-standard China-Africa community of shared destiny.
President Xi also noted that China-Africa relations have successfully developed over the past year. He recalled that China and Africa support each other in the process of modernization and jointly create favorable conditions for accomplishing the tasks set.
Xi Jinping clarified that major changes are taking place in the international arena, against the backdrop of which China and African countries "have great influence on the course of world history".
He added that the AU's participation in the G20 had "strengthened Africa's representation and voice in global governance".
