"We want to increase trade figures through trade in key goods," Ezezew said at the opening of the Russian-Ethiopian business forum in Moscow.
The two countries have seen a significant increase in trade over the past 20 years, Ezezew added.
Ethiopia is interested in fertilizer supplies from Russia and can import tea, meat and spices, the ECCSA president said, adding that the two countries' chambers of commerce play a key role in this avenue.
Meanwhile, Ethiopian Ambassador to Russia Cham Ugala Uriat said that Ethiopia was the gateway to the African continent with a lot of opportunities. The ambassador added that BRICS would become another platform for deepening bilateral relations.
On January 1, BRICS formally launched full membership of Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia. Before that, the bloc united Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.
