The El-Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant is Egypt's inaugural nuclear power facility, slated to be situated in El Dabaa, Matrouh Governorate, approximately 320 kilometers northwest of Cairo.
The NPP is set to feature four VVER-1200 reactors, positioning Egypt as the sole country in the region with a Generation III+ reactor.
The construction of the plant is being carried out by the Russian State Nuclear Energy Corporation (Rosatom), which will also provide Russian nuclear fuel for its operational lifespan.
