US House lawmakers will host a classified briefing with the intelligence community on the unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP, also known as UFOs) on January 9, the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability said on Tuesday.
“On Tuesday, January 9, at 9:00 am E.T, the Committee on Oversight and Accountability will hold a classified Member only briefing with the Office of the Inspector General of the Intelligence Community regarding UAPs,” the committee said in a statement.
US Inspector General of the Intelligence Community Thomas Monheim said in a letter to lawmakers in September that the intelligence community is unable to provide members of Congress with information on alleged US government programs to retrieve and reverse engineer unidentified anomalous phenomena.
