Ten People Killed in Ukrainian Shelling of Russia's Belgorod, Emergencies Ministry Says

MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Nine adults and one child have been killed as a result of a Ukrainian shelling of the Russian city of Belgorod, with another 45 people being injured, the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations said on Saturday.

Earlier in the day, a source in the emergency services said that the death toll from the attack in the Belgorod region was six.
"In Belgorod, nine adults and one child were killed as a result of a shelling by the Ukrainian armed forces. Forty-five people were injured, including four children. Information to be updated," the ministry said on Telegram.
Earlier in the day, Belgorod Region Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said that the Ukrainian military shelled the center of Belgorod, killing two children and injuring an unspecified number of people, according to preliminary information.
Gladkov added that air raid sirens went off in the city and urged all residents to take shelter, as the danger remained. The siren sounded for at least 10 minutes, a Sputnik correspondent reported.
