Relations between Tunisia and Russia are perfect, Tunisian Foreign Minister Nabil Ammar said on Thursday at the end of his meeting with his visiting Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov in Tunis.
"Russia is a very important partner for our country," Minister Ammar said.
According to the Tunisian top diplomat, the North African country does not want to develop its relations with some partners at the expense of others, but with all of them.
Lavrov replied to his Tunisian counterpart that such an approach to international relations is in line with Russian traditions.
"Russia has never made friends with anyone against anyone," the Russian minister noted.
Lavrov added that the League of Arab States (LAS) is one of the poles of the multipolar world that is being formed.
Minister Lavrov's visit to Tunisia followed his participation in the meeting of the Russian-Arab Cooperation Forum, which was held this year in the Moroccan city of Marrakech. This was the first meeting of the forum in the ministerial format in the last four years, the previous session was held in Moscow in April 2019.
