Belarusian agricultural machinery company Gomselmash intends to export 100 units of agricultural machinery to the African continent, the company's CEO Alexander Novikov told Sputnik.
"We plan to supply about a hundred agricultural machines to African countries," he said.
Novikov disclosed that since the beginning of 2023 Gomselmash has produced about 3,000 units of self-propelled machinery, while for the whole of last year it was 2,500 units, with production growth of 20%.
More than half of the company's products are supplied to the Russian market, the head added: this year, 1,700 machines went there, and plans for 2024 – more than 2,000 units.
Novikov emphasized that the company is trying to reduce the share of imported parts. If Russian parts are put on a par with domestic ones, the share of imported components in the machinery of the Belarusian plant is now only 4.5%. The share of Russian components in the machinery of Gomselmash is 40%, the CEO added.
Novikov noted that production is being actively modernized, and the order book is already planned for 2024. The enterprise is reorienting itself towards more complex, energy-intensive machines.
Earlier, the general director of the machine-building enterprise said that the order situation is good now. Buyers are ready to pay and wait as long as six months for the delivery of machines.
