All the injured were taken to hospitals across the Irish capital, the RTE broadcaster reported.
Earlier in the day, the Irish Independent newspaper reported that at least three minors were injured in a stabbing attack in Dublin city center.
National police, Garda Siochana and emergency services received reports of an incident involving a woman and a girl, both of whom sustained serious injuries, at around 2 p.m. local time (14:00 GMT). According to preliminary information, a man arrived in central Dublin and first attacked the children and then a woman. The attacker was also injured and taken to hospital for treatment.
Following the incident, the scene, which intersects with an active transit route for buses and shoppers, was cordoned off for further investigation. Meanwhile, police were working to establish a motive for the attack, which is not regarded as an act of terrorism, the broadcaster reported.
