The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) said on Sunday that, together with Russian diplomats in Palestine, it has organized work to evacuate Russian citizens from the Gaza Strip.
"During this week, a task force of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations has been working to coordinate the order and routes of evacuation of Russian citizens who have found themselves in the zone of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict," the ministry said.
According to the ministry, Russian citizens trying to leave the Israel-Hamas conflict zone are currently passing through the Rafah crossing on the Gaza-Egypt border. EMERCOM specialists are providing them with medical and psychological assistance, food and water on the spot.
"All citizens of the Russian Federation who crossed the border today will be sent to Cairo, where the operational headquarters of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations is deployed. There they will be helped to prepare all the necessary documents," EMERCOM said.
