Hundreds of demonstrators on Thursday were marching in support of Palestine along the central streets of New York, the United States, a Sputnik correspondent reports.
The protestors carried Palestinian flags and demanded freedom for the Palestinian people. Additionally, they held signs with messages like "Palestine Will Be Free."
The protest proceeded along 42nd Avenue from West to East heading towards New York's Grand Central Station. Furthermore, the demonstrators were escorted by the police, and helicopters hovered in the air.
On October 7, Palestinian group Hamas launched a surprise attack against Israel from Gaza, killing and abducting people in neighboring Israeli communities. Israel retaliated with missile strikes and a complete blockade of the Gaza Strip, home to more than 2 million people. On October 27, Israel launched a large-scale ground incursion into Gaza with the declared goal of eliminating Hamas and rescuing the hostages.
