Since the start of the Ukrainian army's counteroffensive in June, Kyiv has strived to conduct drone attacks on Russian territory. On Tuesday, another unsuccessful attempt was made to attack the south of the country.
"On the morning of November 7, an attempt by the Kiev regime to carry out a terrorist attack using 17 fixed-wing drones on objects on the territory of the Russian Federation was stopped. Air defense systems destroyed nine Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles and intercepted eight over the Black Sea and the territory of the Republic of Crimea," the ministry said.
Meanwhile, last week, the Russian military destroyed a Ukrainian drone control center and an ammunition depot in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), the group's spokesman Vadim Astafyev told Sputnik.
"The group's artillery destroyed a drone control center near Reznikovka and an ammunition depot of the enemy's 54th mechanized brigade in the area of Verkhnekamensky in the DPR," Astafyev said.
Earlier, a total of five Ukrainian aircraft-type drones were intercepted by Russian air defenses over Crimea, and one above the Black Sea, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.
