Russian company manufacturer of furniture and household goods Ascona plans to create production and open stores under its brand in Africa, starting in Angola, Mikhail Bukharov, the development director of the firm, said at the Mallpic Sochi exhibition.
"The site for a factory has already been selected, the opening of a store in Luanda will take place before the end of this year," he specified.
According to Bukharov, Askona hopes that production in Angola will become the company’s entry into the African continent. In particular, the Russian manufacturer is interested in developing business in countries such as the Congo, Nigeria and Senegal.
Askona previously announced its intention to enter the market of the United Arab Emirates.
Bukharov explained that the Askona online store began operating in Dubai in October, and the opening of the offline store is expected in the near future. "A store in Abu Dhabi is also being carefully designed," he added.
According to the head of development of the company, in the near future, the company is also going to explore the markets of Saudi Arabia and Qatar, which, according to its estimates, are even larger than the UAE market.
"We are also thinking about the Latin American market: Colombia, Brazil, Chile and Peru," he added.
Askona has been successfully dominating the Russian market to a certain extent. The company's production sites are located in the cities of Kovrov, Vladimir and Novosibirsk.
