Russian Air Defenses Down 36 Ukrainian Drones Over Crimea, Black Sea, Defense Ministry Says

MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Since the start of Kiev's counter-offensive in early June, Russian territory has been the target of numerous drone attacks conducted by Ukraine. In August, after an unsuccessful drone attack on Moscow, the United Nations noted the importance of avoiding such attacks, citing concerns about the safety of civilian infrastructure.

Russia's air defenses shot down 36 Ukrainian aircraft-type drones over Crimea and the Black Sea early on November 29, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.
“Early on October 29, an attempt by the Kiev regime to carry out a terrorist attack by aircraft-type UAVs on facilities on the territory of the Russian Federation was stopped. On-duty air defense systems destroyed 36 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles over the Black Sea and the northwestern part of the Crimean Peninsula,” the ministry said.

On Saturday, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that a Ukrainian drone crashed into a nuclear waste storage facility at Russia's Kursk nuclear power plant.
On October 26, according to the defense ministry, Russian air defense intercepted three Ukrainian drones attempting to attack the Kursk nuclear power plant.
