Beijing supports Moscow in pursuing the path of national revitalization and safeguarding national sovereignty, security and interests, Chinese President Xi Jinping said on Wednesday during talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"China supports the Russian people in their chosen path of national rejuvenation and safeguarding state sovereignty, security and development interests," the Chinese leader said.
President Xi added that China is ready to further strengthen interaction and cooperation with Russia within the framework of multilateral structures.
"(China) is willing to further strengthen interaction and cooperation with Russia within multilateral structures such as the United Nations, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the G20," China Central Television quoted the Chinese leader as saying.
According to Xi, the Chinese side is ready to play a more important role together with Russia in maintaining food security, energy security and the stability of the global production and supply chain.
The Chinese president also stressed Beijing's readiness to work with Moscow to protect the common interests of the two countries, the region and developing countries.
Xi also said that China is ready to cooperate with Russia and other Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member states to integrate the Belt and Road Initiative and the EAEU.
