Vladimir Putin Holds Presser Following CIS Summit

The Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) is a regional cooperation organization that was established following the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991. Its current members include Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, as well as Turkmenistan as an associate member and Moldova.

Sputnik Africa is live as Russian President Vladimir Putin holds a press conference in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, following the summit of the CIS Council of Heads of State.
During the summit, the CIS leaders summed up the results of the interaction within the organization in 2023, identified key goals for the future and exchanged views on the latest global and regional developments.
In his speech to the attendees, President Putin, whose visit to Kyrgyzstan was his first foreign trip this year, focused on the expansion of cultural and humanitarian ties, cooperation in healthcare, science, education and sports, as well as on global issues such as the escalation between Israel and Palestine and countering attempts to falsify history and glorify Nazism.
