Russia stands ready to discuss proposals on peace missions in Africa in cooperation with the United Nations, Russian Deputy Permanent Representative Anna Evstigneeva said on October 13.
"We stand ready to continue to discuss existing proposals on a possible future process for planning and adoption of joint decisions on African peace support missions in Africa, including more viable models for financing as part of the forthcoming negotiations process on the future of a specialized United Nations Security Council Resolution," Evstigneeva told the Security Council members in a session on cooperation between the United Nations and the African Union.
The success of regional organizations lies in solidarity, she added.
