The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said Sunday that it has struck an operational command center of the rocket system of the Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip and an operational command post of the Islamic Jihad movement.
"IDF fighter jets also struck an operational command center belonging of the rocket system operatives of the Hamas terrorist organization and an operational command post belonging to the Islamic Jihad terrorist organization," the IDF said on Telegram.
The IDF said in other posts that it struck three more operational command centers of Hamas and killed several Palestinian troops in the area of the Zikim beach on the Gaza border.
"The Israeli Navy identified seven terrorists in the area of Zikim Beach in Israeli territory. In response, IDF naval soldiers and IDF aircraft targeted the terrorists and prevented infiltration into residential areas ... IDF fighter jets struck three operational command centers, used by the Hamas terrorist organization," the statement read.
The IDF also said it was "striking targets belonging to the Hamas" movement in the Gaza Strip.
Following the Hamas' attack, the Israeli military has sent troops to the southern territories to reconquer them from the Palestinian forces.
Israeli media reported earlier in the day that over 300 people were killed and more than 1,864 others were injured in Israel as a result of the escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. At the same time, the Palestinian Health Ministry said that more than 256 people have been killed and nearly 1,788 injured in Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip.
