Russian Air Force aviation and air defense destroyed a Ukrainian Mi-8 helicopter and 53 drones over the day, the Russian Defense Ministry has said.
"The fighter aviation of the Russian Air Force shot down a Mi-8 helicopter of the Ukrainian air forces near the settlement of Krasny Liman in the Donetsk People's Republic. Air defense intercepted four HIMARS multiple rocket launchers," the ministry said in a statement.
In addition, 53 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles were destroyed and suppressed by electronic warfare means over the day.
The ministry added that Russian aviation and artillery destroyed a Ukrainian P-18 aerial target detection and tracking station, hit two command posts and destroyed an ammunition depot overnight.
Earlier in the day, the Russian Defense Ministry said that Russian air defense systems shot down 11 Ukrainian aircraft-type drones over Crimea and two more drones over the Bryansk region overnight.
The ministry also revealed that Ukraine had hit a ship repair plant in Crimea's Sevastopol with ten cruise missiles and attacked Russian Black Sea Fleet ships with unmanned boats. Russian air defense forces destroyed seven missiles and the Vasily Bykov patrol ship destroyed all the unmanned boats, the authorities disclosed.
A total of 467 airplanes, 249 helicopters, 6,759 unmanned aerial vehicles, 437 anti-aircraft missile systems, 11,826 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,150 multiple rocket launchers, 6,374 field artillery and mortars, and 12,982 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed since the beginning of the special military operation, the ministry stated.
