North Korean leader Kim Jong Un will pay an official visit to Russia in the coming days and talks between the delegations of the two states are planned, the Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told Sputnik, adding that if necessary, Putin and Kim Jong Un will hold a tete-a-tete meeting.
In late July, a Russian military delegation led by Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu visited North Korea on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the end of the Korean War. During this visit, Kim Jong Un and Shoigu discussed security and defense issues. Furthermore, Shoigu handed the North Korean leader a message from Putin.
As for Kim Jong Un's previous visit to Russia, he met with Putin in late April 2019 in the Russian city of Vladivostok. This was the first meeting of the heads of state, and the leaders held talks both one-on-one and with the participation of delegations.
