Ghana, Senegal Forces on Alert for Possible Intervention in Niger, Media Says

MOSCOW (Sputnik) - On Sunday, the Niger military leaders, who overturned the country's President Bazoum, has reportedly accused France of deploying forces in some West African countries for a "military intervention" in the coup-hit state.

Military forces of Ghana and Senegal are on alert for the possibility of invading Niger under the auspices of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) mission to restore constitutional order in the country following the recent coup, media reported, citing sources.
However, it remains unclear whether Ghana would have enough resources to finance the intervention due to its economic instability, the broadcaster added.
