The project will obtain its funding from a variety of prestigious international financial institutions, including the European Investment Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the French Agency of Development, and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank.

The new metro line will be composed of 20 stations along the route, with construction set to begin this month.

Egypt is currently embarking on a significant project that aims to bring its railway infrastructure to the modern era. This initiative is imperative as the current state of the railway facilities is causing train derailments and various accidents due to their outdated condition. The new line aims to improve traffic safety and further develop tourism in the country.
