Iranian President, Top Diplomat to Attend UN General Assembly in September

In late August, following the BRICS Summit in South Africa, Iran along with Argentina, Egypt, Ethiopia, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates were approved to join the bloc.

Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian, will participate in the UN General Assembly in New York from September 18-26, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani said on Monday.
"President Raisi and the foreign minister of the republic will take part in it [the assembly]. Maintaining our presence at international forums has been one of the main principles of our foreign policy. It is important for us to hold bilateral meetings and use the opportunities the the UN General Assembly provides to solve various issues," Kanaani was quoted as saying by the Iranian news agency.
