Nigerian President Recalls All Country's Ambassadors Across World

MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Nigerian President Bola Tinubu has directed the recall of all Nigerian ambassadors across the world, apart from the country's permanent representatives to the UN in New York and Geneva, after the analysis of the current work of Nigerian consulates and embassies, the presidential office has said.

Nigeria has 109 diplomatic missions worldwide, including 76 embassies, 22 high commissions and 11 consulates.
"President Bola Tinubu ... has directed the recall of all career and non-career ambassadors from their duty posts worldwide. The President's directive is sequel to his careful study of the present state of affairs at Nigerian Consulate Offices and Embassies worldwide, and in line with the President's renewed hope agenda, the President is determined to ensure that world-class efficiency and quality, will henceforth, characterize foreign and domestic service delivery to citizens, residents and prospective visitors alike," the office tweeted on Saturday.
Nigeria's permanent representatives to the United Nations in New York and Geneva are exempted from the recall amid the upcoming UN General Assembly scheduled to take place from September 19-26, it added.
