The African countries, Morocco, Seychelles and South Africa are among the winners in a ranking of free African tourist attractions compiled by the specialized American site Casago.
The top spot goes to Lion's Head Mountain in Cape Town, South Africa, according to this survey based on reviews from TripAdvisor users who give it five stars. The attraction received 76.48%. Famous for its streets lined with blue houses, the Moroccan city of Chefchaouen follows with a slight gap (76.4% rating).
Chefchaouen is also known as "The Blue Pearl of Morocco". This locality is also the third most striking monochrome city in the world, according to a ranking by the specialized site Architectural Digest.

The Seychelles' beach Anse Lazio is in the third position (74.42%), followed by the Blue Hole of the Red Sea, in Egypt (68.93%).

Morocco dominating

Two other Moroccan sites stand out in the ranking, the village of Ait Ben Haddou or "Mont-Saint-Michel des Chleuhs", which comes in sixth position (67.74%). Its architectural ensemble has served as the setting for several films, including The Mummy and Gladiator, and for the television series Game of Thrones. Then, it is the city of Fez, ranked ninth (62.09%).
In seventh place stands out the Tanzanian beach of Nungwi, on the island of Zanzibar (64.26%). Among the South African curiosities, the Knysna Heads rocks (69.34%), in the mouth of the eponymous river, shine there. The beach of Camps Bay, located in the city of Cape Town, closes the ranking (61.94%).
Another Egyptian destination, the Coptic Cairo which represents a district of old Cairo, came eighth (62.97%).

Overall, the African continent has a lot to offer to the tourism market and its growth has been increasing constantly. The amount of international tourist arrivals in Africa is expected to grow to 134 million by 2030, at an expected growth rate of 5% between 2010 and 2030, according to the the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development. Based on the statistics, tourism will continue to contribute economically to the development of the continent.
