Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson wanted to sit down with Russian President Vladimir Putin for an interview, RT and Rossiya Segodnya (Sputnik's parent company) editor-in-chief Margarita Simonyan said.
"He has been asking for an interview with Vladimir Putin. It would be great if someone were to hear us and tell the president about it," Simonyan told the Russian broadcaster.
The conservative American pundit has faced heat from the Democrats over his controversial coverage of sensitive topics. Fox News fired the prime-time anchor in April despite the fact he hosted the channel's top-rated program. His own new show on X, formerly known as Twitter, has been watched by millions.
