The first batch of Russian grain supplied to African countries in need for free is possible in the nearest future, and Turkey is familiar with the process, a source participating in talks to resume the grain deal has told Sputnik.
"We expect the first batch to be delivered in the nearest future, this is a very important step for the food security of countries in need," the source said.

"I will say the following: we [Turkey] are familiar with the process. No further comment," the source added when asked to comment on information about the involvement of Turkey and Qatar in the delivery process.
Russia president Vladimir Putin told the BRICS Business Forum on Tuesday that talks between Russia and its partners from Africa regarding the supply of grain free of charge were almost over. As a first step, Moscow decided to send 25,000-50,000 tonnes of grain to six African countries free of charge, including the delivery, Putin said.
