Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel has arrived in South Africa to participate in the BRICS summit in Johannesburg, the Cuban Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday.
"Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel arrived in South Africa, where he will participate in the top-level dialogues of the BRICS summit as the chair of the Group of 77 and China," the ministry said on X (formerly known as Twitter).
The summit in South Africa is the first BRICS summit Diaz-Canel will attend.
The three-day summit of BRICS — the group uniting the world's largest developing economies, namely Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa — began in Johannesburg on Tuesday with a BRICS business forum.
