Made in Heaven: Freddie Mercury's Personal Items to Be Sold at Sotheby's

Zanzibar-born Farrokh Bulsara went down in history as Freddie Mercury of Queen. He was regarded as one of the best singers in rock music history, famed for his flamboyant stage attitude and four-octave vocal range. Mercury's theatrical manner challenged rock frontman traditions, shaping Queen's aesthetic direction.

Sotheby's London unveiled the opening of an exhibition of Freddie Mercury's personal universe this Friday, featuring the global icon's personal collection.
According to the auction house, the galleries will be transformed for a month-long takeover in honor of Freddie Mercury: A World of His Own, exhibiting the collection that has stayed at the late rock icon's cherished house, Garden Lodge, for over three decades.
Apart from that, Sotheby's promised pop-up shops and eateries inspired by Freddie himself.
"This collection has been meticulously preserved at his beloved home at Garden Lodge for over three decades and displays a quality and diversity of works that are a testament not only to his manifold passions, but innate style, accomplished artistry, and brilliant mind," the auction said.
The public exhibition of "Mr. Bad Guy's" personal stuff will last until September 5, the singer's 77th birthday, after which Sotheby's will open a series of auctions in which Mercury's personal belongings will go under the hammer to private collectors.
