Moroccan Journalists Call for Investigation Into Death of Sputnik's Rostislav Zhuravlev

Sputnik war reporter Rostislav Zhuravlev was killed on Saturday when the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) shelled the special military operation zone with a group of Russian journalists.

Journalists in Morocco are calling for an immediate, international and impartial investigation into the death of Sputnik reporter Rostislav Zhuravlev, Anas Mourid of the Moroccan National Press Union told our agency.
The union condemned the incident, saying the group was deeply saddened. It expressed its condolences to the family and colleagues of the correspondent. The professional organization also called for an immediate end to attacks on journalists working in conflict zones around the world.
The correspondent succumbed to serious injuries sustained in a Ukrainian shelling attack on Saturday.

Sputnik photojournalist Konstantin Mikhalchevsky was wounded in the same attack, along with several other Russian journalists.
According to Russia's Ministry of Defense, the attack was carried out using cluster munitions.
Russian diplomats denounced the act of "terrorism" by Kiev and promised to punish those responsible.
The United Nations deplored the death of Sputnik's correspondent and offered its condolences to his family and colleagues.
