Zimbabwean Foreign Ministry announced on Friday that the country's president, Emmerson Mnangagwa, will attend the Second Russia - Africa Economic and Humanitarian Forum, that is set to be held on 27-28 July.
"H.E President Emmerson Mnangagwa will be accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Honourable Dr Frederick Shava and senior government officials," the foreign ministry's statement read
A number of memorandums of understanding and agreements are planned to be signed between two countries within the framework of the summit.
Earlier, Monica Mutsvangwa, Zimbabwe's minister of information, publicity and broadcasting, said in an interview to Sputnik Africa that digitilaization is one of most important issues for Zimbabwe to discuss on the summit.
"From Zimbabwe's point of view, priority issues to be discussed should be digital technologies," the minister said. "And that is very, very interesting to us."
Among other topics on the agenda are medicine, energy - in particular renewable energy - and the development of infrastructure.
The Second Russia-Africa Summit is scheduled for 27-28 July. The aim of the event is to support initiatives aimed at strengthening comprehensive and balanced cooperation between Russia and African countries. Sputnik acts as an information partner of the event.
