At the opening ceremony, Rossiya Segodnya First Deputy Editor-in-Chief Sergei Kochetkov noted:
“We are doing a great deal to develop cooperation with our African colleagues in the media sphere. The same goes for other areas. Our countries work together in many areas: trade, energy, mining, investment, agriculture and many other industries. At the same time, we must admit that the level of knowledge about Africa, the level of understanding of what is happening on the continent, is still relatively low among the general public in Russia. We are launching this exhibition to draw attention to the continent on the eve of a major political event and to show people on the streets in Moscow the beauty and uniqueness of each of the participating countries.”
The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of embassies and academic circles, as well as journalists from 15 African countries.
The exhibition can be seen on the media screen until July 31.
