"President Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev had a telephone conversation with the President of Russia. Vladimir Putin informed him about the situation in the country," the press service said in a statement.
Tokayev noted that the current events in Russia are an internal affair of the country, while constitutional order and the rule of law are a prerequisite for maintaining law and order. This is the basis for the security of society and its successful development, he added.
Putin thanked Kazakhstan for its understanding of the current situation in Russia, the statement said.
On Friday, footage and audio attributed to Wagner troops and the group's leader Yevgeny Prigozhin surfaced online alleging that a "missile attack" had been launched at a Wagner camp, and that the strike was "delivered from the rear, that is by forces of the Russian Defense Ministry."
The Federal Security Service (FSB) and the Prosecutor General's Office of Russia opened a criminal case against Wagner leader Yevgeny Prigozhin for "provoking an armed insurgency".
Soon after the development, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that the Kiev regime was concentrating several brigades on the Artemovsk direction for the offensive, taking advantage of Prigozhin's provocation.
