The Ukrainian counteroffensive does not meet the expectations placed on it by the Western nations, a US TV channel reported on Thursday, citing two representatives of Western countries and a senior Pentagon official.
According to the latter, one of the Western countries' representatives noted that the Kiev's counteroffensive "does not meet expectations in any of the directions."
At the same time, a TV channel reports that Ukrainian troops demonstrate "vulnerability" in overcoming minefields.
The Deputy Head of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Anna Malyar, admitted on Tuesday that the country's armed forces are facing difficulties during their counteroffensive.
Recently, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky also admitted that the counteroffensive is going "slower than we would like."
Moreover, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said on Tuesday that the Armed Forces of Ukraine faced a well-prepared defense of Russia during the counteroffensive.
On June 22, Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Nikolay Patrushev said that the losses of the AFU personnel since the beginning of the counteroffensive exceeded 13 thousand.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has stressed that Ukrainian troops are not successful in any direction.
