Ramaphosa is set to arrive in St. Petersburg on Saturday as part of the African delegation which held talks with the Ukrainian leadership in Kiev on Friday.
In addition, Ramaphosa said that he had very frank talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and hopes to have similar conversation with Putin.
Meanwhile, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told Sputnik that separate Ramaphosa-Putin meeting is not ruled out.
On June 16, African leaders arrived in Kiev to hold talks with the Ukrainian president as part of a peace initiative aimed to end hostilities in the region.
During the visit, African leaders have made conflict resolution proposals to Ukraine but will not disclose them until their meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, a diplomatic source told Sputnik on Friday.
According to the source, the conversation with the Ukrainian leadership was "very frank."
When asked if the African delegation made any proposals to Kiev, the source said "yes", adding that nothing will be disclosed until the upcoming meeting with Putin.
The source also said that African leaders do not give up on their goals and will go ahead with their trip to Russia to listen to the other side.
