Russian President Vladimir Putin is welcoming his Algerian counterpart Abdelmajid Tebboune to the Kremlin.
According to the Kremlin press service, the presidents of Russia and Algeria are set to thoroughly discuss the development of bilateral strategic cooperation in various fields, as well as pressing global political topics, including the situation in the Middle East and North Africa.
Following the talks, the leaders are expected to sign nine documents, including a declaration on deepening the Russian-Algerian strategic partnership, which will mark the transition of the bilateral relations to a new, advanced level, the Kremlin said.
Algeria is among Moscow's top three trading partners in Africa. In 2022, bilateral trade turnover amounted to 1.7 billion dollars, and in January-March 2023 it surged 73.7%, noted Russian presidential aide, Yuri Ushakov.
